Parma

Of all the cities we visited I think Parma was our favorite. The atmosphere of the place spoke of small town values, the natives were friendly, and the food was to die for.

While the Duomo and Baptistery (circa 1,100) were the main religious sites they were, by no means, the only ones. The beauty of the paintings, frescos, sculptures and carvings in the churches and baptisteries of Parma compared with any we've seen anywhere.

For WWII buffs, Parma played an important roll in the resistance. It's pride in it's history is evident in the statues and memorials to be found around the town.
